Happy Retirement Mom

Tomorrow is Mom's last day on the job after 22+ years of service to the Nebo School District lunch program. She has worked in many kitchens and has made many friends. A lot of the ladies she worked with became almost like an extended family attending weddings, baby showers, and even funerals. I don't know how many of them know this but, we appreciate them being our Mom's friends and the support they have given her over the years.

I appreciate that Mom took a job that allowed her to be home with us as much as she was, it was nice to have the summer break all together. I have lots of memories of heading into the Jr. High kitchen with my friends receiving treats and notes excusing me from class. I sometimes wonder if Mom liked that she could keep a closer watch over us by being at the school.

So as you retire Mom, please know that all the "Thank you for your service" you have received over the past several months isn't just from the district, or the kitchen staff, or your friends it is from us too. We love you and....well now that you're home....do you want to watch the kids?

21 Weeks All Is Well

Goofy Goofs

Goofy kids... I especially like the wispy flame looking things coming out of Bailey's eyes.
Wonder if they get it from their Dad?

Happy Birthday Alex!

I am a slacker mom. Alex had his 10th birthday yesterday and I didn't do a post. I will try to make up for it today.

I remember that tiny little boy face looking up at us and wondering what in the world will I do with a boy. We found out fast, from what we hear he broke us in easy. He has always been a quiet boy, until you get him talking about something he likes, (nuclear power plants while on vacation when he was 4, Star Wars, Club Penguin). When it is time for me to make dinner or anything else, like cookies, he is the one who is first to volunteer to help me. Alex we love you lots and are very proud of you. We hope you had a great day.

We Know What The Baby Is!

Never have we been in such a hurry to find out what a baby is. This one had us stumped, we would lean one way and then the other. I am at 18 weeks according to our doctor. He didn't make our next appointment until April 28th that puts us at 21 weeks. Now we realize that the "20 week" ultrasound is to check the baby and make sure everything is okay and we are totally on board with that. However, we really wanted to know what this baby is. So we found a way to find out. We went to someone who does ultrasounds, (the girl did Hillary's when she was pregnant with Owen).

We are happy to report....it's a GIRL! I asked Dan how he thought we should tell my family since they were coming to our house last night, and the picture above is what he suggested. You see, we had decided that if it was a girl we will name her Lily. So Lily it is. Good idea daddy!
