It is the time of year when here comes the camo and there goes my husband to participate in the muzzleloader hunt. Bailey was able to go with him this year, she went opening day and then she was finished. For more of the story http://youmissedwhat.blogspot.com/2008/09/good-job-boys-good-job.html

Happy Birthday Mom!
To celebrate Mom's birthday this year we decided to give her a surprise party. We called Dad, set up secret meetings, and made arrangements for the party. Dad was told to delete calls from caller ID, and we barely spoke with Mom for a week. We were afraid we would blow it.
Her actual birthday was Friday. We went to Lagoon. We gave her a small package of cheesecake, (the birthday dessert of her choice), and told her we would do her traditional family dinner on Monday.
Saturday came and Dad managed to get Mom out of the house, they went to a movie. We got to their house and set up everything. The boys drove the cars down the street and we locked the door. Inside we waited, and waited - Dad kept her out a little too well. Finally they got home, came through the door to find 60 colorful balloons and family jumping out to say surprise.
She had no idea, laughing she asked Dad if he he was in on it, Aunt Ann and Grandma if they were in on it. We all told her yes and she couldn't believe none us spilled it. We enjoyed her dinner (taco salad - what's not to enjoy) and more cheesecake.
Happy 60th Mom! We love you.

a side note
E just woke up, walked into the kitchen, dropped his jammies, opened the dishwasher... luckily I stopped him before he used it as a toilet. That was close!

Shadow Cowboys
Today I was at the school to pick up the boys. I had them loaded in and some boy asks if I know a kid named Alex. I asked if he meant my Alex and he confirmed that yes, that was who he was looking for. Then he wants to know if Alex can come to his house for a Star Wars 52nd anniversary party. After snickering quietly with Hillary over the 52 anniversary - we don't think it is really that old, I get a little more info from this kid. He gives me his name, address, and phone number, and description of his house, (there might be a grey truck out front). We drive down the road to find his house, see a grey truck, and as we pull up to the house Hillary sees it... the shadow cowboy.
I hate shadow cowboys. I should apologize to those who have them but, I can't. Not even sure why I don't like them - just don't. I see them around some even have bandannas around their necks to "liven" them up a little. It seems that they only pop up when I don't have the camera - not this time shadow cowboy man! So we pull over take a picture because I needed to have something to show anyone not sure of what a shadow cowboy is what it is that I am writing about.
We are laughing and photoging, we finish and realize it isn't the kids house, (that's next door), and I was half way out in the road. Not sure if I blocked the road or not but there were several cars that drove past when I pulled fully off the road. Great I was just trying to get pictures for my blog. Now I am the stupid girl taking pictures and blocking the road that they are all blogging about, figures!

That's what we get?
Labor day - the last great warm say goodbye to summer weekend. Not this year, a sample of what we experienced.
This is where a photo of Dan finishing the 5k should go. After it rained all night and then confessing to me that the doctor told him not to run for a month, he decided to pass this time.
yay! The weather cleared let's go the park/parade!
hoe hum - Let's go to Beauty and the Beast, (at least Bailey can get school credit for that) The boys can go see Star Wars Clone Wars, (that saves me from having to go).
